When will I get my magazine?

We publish Trails every February, May, August, and November. The first of each of those months, subscriptions reset to begin with the following issue. So, if you Subscribed on February 1 or later (the day the February issue came out), your subscription will begin with the May issue. 

We ship these out as quick as we can, once we get them from the printer, but it's usually within a few weeks of the release date.  

I'm a Kickstarter backer. Am I still subscribed?

Anyone who subscribed during our Kickstarter campaign in the Fall of 2022 signed up via Kickstarter to receive Issues 1 through 4. Unfortunately, because payment was handled through Kickstarter, those who subscribed there will not be automatically re-subscribed before Issue 5 releases. I subscribed but can't log into my account. What do I do?

First off: Thank you for subscribing! Subscribers don't have accounts automatically. Start by going here and selecting "Create account" then signing up using the same email address you used to purchase your subscription. Assuming those email addresses match up, you should see your order and subscription information in your account. 

Can I cancel my subscription?

Magazines like ours depend heavily on having a determined number of subscribers when we go to print, which makes refunds difficult. By subscribing, you're pre-paying for a four-issue subscription, which will renew automatically every year. Subscriptions will renew annually unless cancelled by you prior to renewal via your account. If you wish to cancel your subscription, do that by following these directions:

  1. Click on the little person in the top right of this page (or click here) and log in. (If you don't have a login, see "I subscribed but can't log into my account" above.)
  2. Select the "Manage Your Subscription" button down below.
  3. If you have an Active Subscription, you'll see it here. Click to open it. 
  4. Look for "Cancel my subscription" on the bottom-right.

You'll receive the remaining issues on the subscription you already paid for, but will not be charged for another year. 

Once your subscription renews, you have 48 hours in most cases to request to a refund to stop your subscription—Reach out to us at info@trailsmag.net. We are not required to issue any refunds and these are offered on a case-by-case basis. 

How do I update my address?

It's important to make sure your mailing address is updated before we ship the next issue. To change your mailing address, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the little person in the top right of our website (or click here) and log in. (If you don't have a login, select "Create Account" and set one up using the email you subscribed with.)
  2. Select "Manage Your Subscriptions" below your orders. (Do not click on "View addresses" on the right—that will only change your address for future orders.)
  3. If you have an Active Subscription, you'll see it here. Click to open it.
  4. Click "Edit" next to your shipping address on the right.
  5. A dialog will appear that allows you to enter a new shipping address. Select "Save."

How do I update my billing method?

It's also important to make sure your billing information is updated before you're charged next year. To change your billing information, follow these steps.

  1. Click on the little person in the top right of our website (or click here) and log in. (If you don't have a login, select "Create Account" and set one up using the email you subscribed with.)
  2. Select "Manage Your Subscriptions" below your orders. 
  3. If you have an Active Subscription, you'll see it here. Click to open it.
  4. Select "Edit" next to your payment method on the right. . 
  5. You'll receive an email with directions for updating your payment information.  

I'm purchasing a subscription with a gift card. Why is it still asking for my credit card?

Subscriptions are recurring, which means subscribers are automatically charged for another year's subscription when the prior year is up. You're being asked for your credit card so that we have something on file when your subscription renews. If your gift card balance covers the cost of your subscription, nothing will be charged to your credit card until next year and you're always free to cancel your subscription to prevent it from billing your credit card after you subscribe. How can my business advertise in Trails?

Ads will be limited in Trails to preserve the magazine’s high quality look and feel, but some small number of advertisements will help keep the price our readers pay down and the quality of our journalism and photography up. If you or your business are interested in taking out one of our limited advertisements, email advertise@trailsmag.net.

How can my business stock issues of Trails?
